Instant oatmeal

Well almost......

  

I'm on a journey of sorts. I want to reduce our household expenses by a lot. My children and I love instant oatmeal. However, the quick oats in the canister, are a ton cheaper.

So I researched the concept of making my own oatmeal packets. 

Most said to use a baggy, 1/2 cup quick cook oats, 1 tablespoon brown sugar, and what ever mix-ins you wanted.

I opted to add walnuts.

I portioned out 10 bags for the week. You add 1/2 cup liquid of your choice and microwave from 1:30 to 2:00 minutes.

The verdict: Not bad.

I think I need to add raisins.
